This rate applies to those up to 5 years post PhD conferral, taking into account any career disruptions.
This rate applies to any full time or part time student. You will be asked to show your current student certification at the registration desk on arrival.
The AFGN will be hosting a social event at the Science Gallery Melbourne on the Thursday evening of the Symposium.
Location: Science Gallery Melbourne, Melbourne Connect, at/114 Grattan St, Parkville VIC 3052
Time: Thursday 28th of November @ 6-9PM
Drinks and canapés will be provided. This will be a great opportunity to network and view the fascinating exhibit on display at the gallery.
Registration for the social event will be included in the Symposium registration. Please RSVP and indicate any dietary requirements you may have during the registration process. Additional tickets to the social event are available at the time of registration.
Getting there
The Melbourne Brain Centre is located on the University of Melbourne Parkville campus in the Kenneth Myer Building. The auditorium is on the ground floor. Use the main entrance, next to Dr Dax café, to access the auditorium foyer.
Accommodation
The Melbourne Brain Centre is located in Parkville, Melbourne with accommodation available nearby and in the surrounding suburbs, including Carlton, North Melbourne.
The venue is also easily accessible from Melbourne CBD.

Invited speakers
Invited speakers will present on current and emerging approaches to functional investigations across a variety of disease areas as well as insights into translation into the diagnostic pipeline.

Abstract submissions
Abstracts are invited to be submitted on all aspects of functional genomics research in genomic medicine.
Submissions close on September 13th 2024. Presenters of accepted submissions must register to attend the Symposium in person.

Payment
MCRI staff and students
Please complete the registration form and select MCRI tickets. Payment will be managed through internal transfer
Registration payments must be received prior to the Symposium. If payment is not received by 27 November 2024 your registration may be cancelled.
All registrations will be acknowledged automatically by email. If you do not receive an email confirmation upon the completion of your online registration, please contact the AFGN team to ensure that your details have been received.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations must be advised in writing to the organising committee by 14 Novemeber 2024. Cancellations made by 14 November 2024 will receive a refund less a $15 cancellation fee. Refunds after 14 November 2024 will only be issued in exceptional circumstances (less the cancellation fee). Substitute delegates will be accepted.
All refunds are paid after the conclusion of the Symposium.

Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out their own travel and medical insurance prior to coming to the Symposium. The Symposium Organisers, AFGN, and the Organising Committee will take no responsibility for any participant failing to insure. Please speak to your travel or insurance agent, or airline in regard to this matter.
